The Maui wildfires, which destroyed most of the historic town of Lahaina, have been the deadliest in the U.S. in more than a century, with 1000+ residents still unaccounted for and more than 2,200 structures (mostly residential) destroyed. The situation in Maui creates very unique challenges and the road to recovery will be long.

Anthony Nelson, a restorer, consultant, and resident of Maui with his wife and children, shares his story of living, working, and loving life near Lahaina, what the community means, and the long road ahead to restoring and rebuilding a largely under-insured community, the heartbreaking deaths from the wildfire, and more.
