We made it to 2025! Can you believe it? If you are like me, I am excited for what the new year will bring, and thankful for the many lessons I learned in 2024.
At C&R, we have some fun things up our sleeves for the new year! A few of them will be revealed in this issue, and others will be unveiled in the months ahead. First and foremost, the C&R team is excited to announce the launch of an all-new industry award, in partnership with the Restoration Industry Association! You can find out more about the Emerging Leaders Award on page 42 of the magazine or online HERE. If you are younger than 40, or have rising stars on your team younger than 40, you’ll want to learn more!
We are also welcoming some new authors and voices in 2025! Be sure you are keeping up with our weekly Restoration Today eNewsletter (on Tuesdays) and Restoration Roundup eNewsletter (on Fridays) to keep up with all the news happening throughout the week, and a ton of content you won’t get in the magazine alone (although let’s face it, the content here is pretty awesome!).
Lastly, we are looking forward to launching two new things (OK, 3 if you count Emerging Leaders) at the RIA convention this year. If you aren’t registered yet, please do! This event sells out, and hotel rooms fill up fast! The event is April 28-30 in lovely West Palm Beach. You can register at: https://convention.restorationindustry.org/
In 2025, I hope you remember to be brave and bold. Trust yourself, lean into your mentors, and don’t be afraid to take risks. My 5-year-old son, Luca, is in the second percentile for height and weight. He is a full head shorter and 20+ pounds lighter than many kids his age. But he is bold, brave, and unafraid to go up against the big kids. He frequently surprises the kids he plays hockey and soccer with thanks to his speed and determination. When I tell you this child will spend the bulk of his hockey career in the penalty box for roughing, I speak truth! So I hope you can take that silly inspiration from a 5-year-old and know that no matter the size of your team or business, you can be strong and mighty – against competitors, against carriers with unreasonable pushback, against whatever “Goliath” is in your way.
Find your purpose, and stay true to it.
