Chris Kissin is a newly IICRC-approved Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) instructor and is excited about the future of carpet cleaning in Australia. For years, the Australian market has lacked IICRC-approved instructors for carpet cleaning, leading to a gap in professional training and certification. However, this is now changing, making IICRC certification more accessible to Australian technicians—a positive shift for the industry, its professionals, and customers alike.

Chris’s journey as a professional carpet cleaner began in 2005, working with a portable machine equipped with a gas heater. In 2008, he earned his first IICRC certification in carpet cleaning, marking a pivotal moment in his career. The training he received not only advanced his skills but also opened his eyes to the professional standards of the industry. Through extensive travel and continuous learning, he has dedicated himself to honing his expertise and promoting higher standards in carpet care. Chris is an IICRC master cleaning technician, master water restorer, and master fire and smoke restorer.

One aspect Chris is particularly passionate about is the importance of professional carpet cleaning and the use of certified technicians. Clean carpets are integral to a healthy indoor environment, as they can significantly improve indoor air quality when properly maintained. Developing a tailored cleaning regimen that considers the carpet’s fibre type, construction, and usage can enhance its appearance, longevity, and the overall health of a space.

Looking ahead, Chris is excited to train the next generation of carpet cleaning professionals in Australia, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to elevate the industry. Together, they can raise the bar for professional carpet cleaning and create a healthier, cleaner future.
