April marked nine years in the restoration industry for me. In many ways it feels like I’ve always been here, and in many others it feels like my time here has only just begun. Like many of you in your own companies, I’m often thinking about what’s next for C&R (and my company Blueprint Creative), what type of people I need to fill in where I am lacking – or where the current team needs more help, and so on.
It was exactly one year ago this month that, through a post on LinkedIn looking for some content creation help, I met Lauren Etherington. Over the last year, she has grown into an integral part of the C&R team – and today, I’m thrilled to introduce her to all of you as C&R’s brand new Associate Editor. For me, content has always been at the core of what C&R is and should be; I believe trustworthy, high-quality, educational content provides the foundation for the rest of the brand, and Lauren is the perfect person to help steward the ship.
Now, I’m going to hand this off to Lauren to introduce herself to you!
My lifelong passion for writing naturally led me to a career in marketing, where I’ve worked within the construction and restoration industries. Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of learning and growing under Michelle’s mentorship and I’m thrilled to step into the role of C&R’s Associate Editor! Moving forward, my vision for C&R’s content is to provide insightful, actionable, and innovative perspectives that empower cleaning and restoration professionals to thrive in this ever-changing, always-exciting industry.

Michelle Blevins is a content creator, marketing consultant, and entrepreneur whose career has been centered around education and fostering relationships within the industry she serves. A journalist by trade, Michelle is passionate about running a publication rooted in integrity and valuable education. She views her role as owner and publisher of C&R Magazine as a bridge between industry experts and restoration and cleaning contractors. Since joining the restoration industry, Michelle has made it her business to stay on top of the latest industry trends. She has become a go-to resource for anyone looking to learn more about what’s happening within today’s restoration industry. This has earned her a spot on many industry stages facilitating panels and helpful discussion with industry experts on the biggest topics facing restorers and cleaners in the current market.
Lauren has been utilizing her writing expertise as C&R Magazine’s Associate Editor since 2023. After gaining a degree in legal studies, she ultimately chose to channel her writing capabilities to help support small businesses in the construction and restoration industries with their marketing efforts. Her ability to ask insightful questions helps uncover the core essence of each business, generating content that enhances brand identity and fosters genuine connections. Lauren calls Des Moines, Iowa home, where she resides with her husband and three children.
