Planting Seeds Isn’t Seasonal

What is top of mind for you as you make your way through the busy summer season?

It’s probably the million things required to handle the surge of projects coming in the wake of summer weather events.

Allow me to add one more thing to your long list of priorities – do NOT forget about the Fall.

Keep. Planting. Seeds.

When things get busy, don’t forget about doing the things you need to do NOW that turn into business in 3-4 months.

A garden analogy really fits here in some ways. If you want your garden to “bear fruit” in a few months, you need to plant seeds now. Painfully obvious with an actual garden, right?

And you know this applies to your business, too. Yet, when you’re starting four new projects in the next 10 days and responding to the latest local disaster, it’s easy to forget.

DO NOT FORGET.

Planting seeds is never seasonal in business. Every interaction is an opportunity to plant seeds, to build referral networks, to ensure that today’s success carries over and has a compounding return.

To stop prospecting or getting the word out during your busy season can mean a painful drop in business when the season ends. And it always ends.

Let this gentle reminder help you remember to keep planting seeds this summer. Keep planting seeds.
