The National Organization of Remediators and Mold Inspectors (NORMI) has met the growing needs of the indoor air quality industry by moving its primary onsite training facility, the NORMIPro Academy, to a new location with three times the classroom space. This enhanced learning environment will provide more space for onsite students as well as increased sound quality for online students as the shape and layout of the new classroom are optimal for broadcasting acoustics. NORMI uses state-of-the-art technology to simulcast courses LIVE online in fully interactive webinars transmitted on the ZOOM platform. NORMI offers several new classes in addition to its flagship Certified Mold Assessor and Remediator course. The onsite courses regularly available at the NORMIPro Academy include the following:
- Mold Assessor and Remediator (English & Spanish)
- Mold Odor Abatement
- Remediation for Sensitized Individuals
- EPA Lead Renovation, Repair, Painting (RRP) (English & Spanish)
- IAQ/Mold Strategy, Sampling, Solutions
- Advanced IAQ Assessor
Several of these courses offer the opportunity to become certified after the successful completion of an exam. In addition, they all provide Floria continuing education credits.
NORMI is known for the support it provides its active members. The training organization provides weekly continuing education training for active members. In addition, every other year, NORMI provides free online CEU classes to help active members complete the biennial 14 CEUs required by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) Mold Related Services Board. All Florida licensed mold assessors and remediators must complete these 14 CEUs by July 31, 2022.
